Man City transfer news: Pep Guardiola CONFIRMS interest in signing two starlets

first_imgPep Guardiola has confirmed he wants to bring Everton’s John Stones and Schalke’s Leroy Sane to Manchester City, amid a series of reports linking the duo with summer moves to the Etihad Stadium.Interest in the English defender has ramped up in recent days, with talks ongoing concerning a £50 million deal for the talented centre-back.Sane is also a known target, and although he has told his current club he wants to leave, City have yet to enjoy any breakthroughs in a move for the 20-year-old winger.Speaking following City’s victory over Borussia Dortmund in the International Champions Cup, Guardiola confirmed that both players are on his shortlist, although he refused to divulge details on either deal. The Catalan said: “Sane is a player from Schalke. If he comes, we’ll be happy. If he stays, I’ll be happy for the Schalke fans.In relation to Stones, Guardiola said: “It’s the same answer for Sane – he’s a player for Everton.“Everyone knows we’re going to try but we will see.”The Everton star flew out to Germany on Thursday for a two-match tournament in Dresden. The defender played 30 minutes of Tuesday’s win at MK Dons, his first appearance since returning from extended leave after being part of England’s Euro 2016 squad. 1 John Stones and Leroy Sane are wanted by Pep Guardiola last_img read more
