Tourists aged 55 to 64 realized the most overnight staysIn June 2018, tourists in the age group 55 to 64 realized the most overnight stays, approximately 2 million, which is 16,8% of the total overnight stays. They are followed by tourists in the age group up to 14 years and tourists in the age group from 45 to 54 years, who each realized approximately 1,9 million overnight stays, which is 15,8% of the total number of overnight stays for each age group.In the first six months, an increase in tourist arrivals and overnight staysIn the first six months of 2018, tourists made 6 million arrivals and 22 million overnight stays in commercial accommodation facilities, which is an increase of 12% in arrivals and a 9% increase in tourist overnight stays compared to the same period in 2017.In the period from January to June 2018, domestic tourists realized 889 thousand arrivals and 2,2 million overnight stays, which is 11% more arrivals and 10% more overnight stays compared to the same period in 2017. Foreign tourists realized 5,2 million arrivals and 19,9 million overnight stays, an increase of 13% in arrivals and a 9% increase in tourist overnight stays compared to the same period last year. Most overnight stays of foreign tourists were realized by tourists from Germany (24%), Austria (11%), Slovenia (9%) and the United Kingdom (7%). In June 2018, 2,6 million tourist arrivals and 11,9 million overnight stays were realized in commercial accommodation facilities, which is 2017% more tourist arrivals and 4,0% fewer overnight stays compared to June 1,5, according to data from the State Bureau of Statistics (CBS).Domestic tourists realized 234 thousand arrivals and 781 thousand overnight stays, which is an increase of 13,0% in arrivals and an increase of 14,4% in overnight stays compared to June 2017. Foreign tourists realized 2,4 million arrivals and 11,1 million overnight stays , which is 3,2% more arrivals and 2,4% fewer overnight stays compared to June 2017.Most overnight stays of foreign tourists in June 2018 were realized by tourists from Germany (21,8%), Austria (10,2%), Slovenia (8,9%), the Czech Republic and Poland (both 7,8%) and the United Kingdom (6,4%).Rovinj is the first in terms of the number of overnight staysRovinj realized the highest number of tourist nights in June 2018, 599 thousand nights. The highest number of overnight stays was recorded in the group Camps and camping sites, 52%, followed by the group Hotels and similar accommodation, 25%. The Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority (USPA) is working on a project which includes maintenance dredging of the Kherson seaport.The company on Friday, August 18, invited interested bidders via the ProZorro electronic procurement system to participate in the tender.Kherson seaport is located on the right bank of River Dnipro. The design depth of the port’s waters is 8.25 meters, but the declared draft is 7.6 meters.According to USPA, the estimated cost of dredging work is $1.75 million. The volume of soil to be removed from the bottom of the port’s waters is 152,000 cubic meters. The deadline for completing the work is three months.The Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority expects both Ukrainian and foreign dredging companies to show interest and submit their offers by September 18.This is not the only project the company is working on, USPA is also preparing maintenance dredging of the ports of Reni (tenders have already been invited via the ProZorro procurement system), Odesa, Mariupol, and Berdiansk in 2017.In addition, maintenance dredging of the approach channel to the Mykolaiv seaport (the 13th tributary of the Dnieper-Bug Estuary) and the Kherson maritime channel will be performed.
