Mamata to legalise hawking govt to issue free trade licences

We are the first in the country to start the process of registering vendors and hawkers,” Banerjee said after a meeting  with  hawkers. About 5000 licensed shopkeepers—on strike in the New market area–have been contending that it was becoming difficult for them to stay in business as hawkers, apart from competing with cheaper goods, block shop facades preventing the entry of shoppers in the market.last_img
