Nearly 17 million views of UPCs On Demand service

first_imgUPC HAS SAID that there have been nearly 17 million views of its On Demand service since its launch last year.The digital television, phone and broadband provider says that over 87 per cent of its On Demand capable customers have availed of the service which allows them to watch selected television series and movies any time they want.The service is available to around 600,000 Irish homes with customers in Cork, Limerick, Galway and Waterford benefitting from an additional rollout of the service last July following its initial launch in Dublin last May.UPC says that that in total there have been over 16.5 million views of content on the service which offers programmes from the RTÉ and TV3 players as well as over 1,300 hours of series such as Sex And The City, The Office and Mistresses.“It’s hugely popular and our customers have totally embraced the concept of arranging their TV viewing around their schedule,” content development manager at UPC, David Kent, said.Some of the most popular content has been from the RTÉ and TV3 players with soaps like Coronation Street, Eastenders and Fair City among the most watched.
